Last walk for 2020
Start: Promenade MRT, 7 am

0~10 km, Promenade MRT - Satay-by-the-Bay, 7:15am - 9:35am
Temasek Ave -> Marina Promenade -> Along Kallang River  -> Merdeka Bridge -> Stadium Riverside Walk -> Tanjong Rhu Peomenade -> Bay East Garden -> Marina Barrage -> Satay-by-the-Bay (Drink and toilet break)
A relatively easy walk as a warm-up and getting into form (+mind) for the more strenuous walk ahead.

~10 km - 20km, Garden-By-the-Bay - Labrador MRT, 9:55am - 12:20am
Garden-by-the-Bay -> Marina Blvd -> MBFC -> Raffles Quay -> Shenton Way -> Robinson Road -> Keppel Road -> Telok Blangah Road -> Keppel Bay Drive -> Bukit Chermin Broadwalk -> Labrador  Berlayer Creek Boardwalk Park -> Labrador Park MRT -> Alexandra Retial Centre ARC (lunch and restroom break)
The weather had become warmer, as we walked along the pavements lining the CBD buildings. The overhead West Coast Highway provided much needed shade as we walked along Keppel Road.

~20 km - 30km, ARC - Pandan Garden PCN (Pandan Road), ~1 pm - 3pm
ARC -> Pasir Panjang Road -> West Coast Park -> West Coast Road -> Pandan Garden PCN
The Malay word 'Pasir PANJANG' means 'LONG Sand', and it was really a LOOONG stretch of road. The trees/plantation by the pavement along Pasir Panjang provided much needed shade until we reached the Wholesales Market stretch, just before West Coast Park.

~30km - 40km , Pandan Garden - Buona Vista MRT, ~3pm - 5:15pm
Pandan Garden PCN -> Along Pandan River - Ulu Pandan PCN(Toh Guan Road) -> Sunset Way (Drinks and toilet break) ->  Dover MRT -> Buona Vista MRT
By this point, FATIGUE and 'SORE SOLE' were new companions of mine.  Fortunately, we walked along the  tranquil and pleasant stretch of PCN, mainly along the canal and surrounded by greenery. We had a welcome break at Sunset Way for drinks and a toilet break, and it was a real challenge to start walking again after resting.

~40km - 50km, Commonwealth Avenue - Marina Square, 5:15 - 7:45pm
Commonwealth Avenue -> Maraget Drive (should have continued on C.Ave) -> Alexandra Canal Linear Park - Dawson Foodcourt (drinks/toilet break) -> Alexandra Park Connector -> Clark Quay -> Singapore River -> Queen Elizabeth Walk -> Esplanade Theatre -> Marina Square!
Along with FATIGUE and SORE SOLE, I was now met with 'PAIN' as we entered the final few kilometres. There were more walkers and residents walking along the Alexandra Park Connector. We took another well-deserved rest at Dawson food court, where we assembled as a group before proceeding to walk the last stretch.

Marina Square - 50km?, 7:45pm
We arrived at Marina Square!

It was a very tiring walk but YC had planned a fantastic route with
 (a) minimal overhead bridges and hills
 (b) as shaded a walk as possible,
 (c) pathways through PCNs with minimal roadside pavements.   👍😊

And as usual, HP and Sally booked and ordered dinner in advance so that we did not need to queue and wait for dinner after our walk. 😋🍜🍤😍

Bravos to all walkers - EW, OK, K, WS, YC and ME!
Thanks to all supporters!

Thoughts
It has been a year like no other, but we've thankfully found the opportunity to walk, to discover and rediscover Singapore and to simply enjoy and relish time together. Of course, there were those 'oh-NO! 😟 I might be caught again (by the camera)' moments. 😒

Anyway, 💖💝🎉 THANK YOU 😍🎊 to all in the 'RJC - U'll never walk alone" group!

I wonder if we've already explored most of what the island has to offer. While there is likely more to discover, an overseas walk will be a nice change - solo or with friends.
