Day 1:
Morning: We took the 7:30am Tobu train from Asakusa station, and arrived in Nikko at 9:20am. The weather was overcast.
Although we had already downloaded the timetable from the web, we approached the station's counter for re-confirmation of the train's timetable and also got more details for our itinerary for the next 3 days.
We hurriedly walked to Nikko Station II Hotel to check if we could leave our bags there as we would be checking in the next day. The hotel agreed to our request! We walked back to the station to pack some pastries, and waited for our train to Ryuokyo Canyon.
Afternoon: Getting to and Walking the Ryuokyo Canyon
Evening: Lodging at A Ryokan Experience in Honke Bankyu
Day 2:
Morning: After arriving in Nikko from Honke Bankyu, we took the bus to view the Kogen Fall from the cable car.
We were fortunate that the cable car was still operating as the weather was cloudy, and slightly windy.
Afternoon: We did A walk from Ryuzu Fall - Senjogahara to Yumoto-Onsen
Late Afternoon
We went to Lion For to pack our dinner, picked up our luggage from the hotel, and were back at the station. We also changed the time of our train to an earlier train.
The Nikko trip was filled with beautiful scenery and friendly locals. I hope that the places continue to be well maintained, and that both locals and tourists treasure the beauty of this town.

Evening:
We checked into our hotel, and then we had our dinner at Komekichi Kouzushi Japanese Restaurant.
On our way back to the hotel, we went to Lion Dor supermarket. I like to visit supermarkets when I am traveling to have a feel of the local lifestyle and to try the variety of goods found only in that country, and Japan's supermarkets are especially interesting when it comes to unique foods and snacks.
There were many choices of food, and we decided that we would pick up our dinner here before taking our train back to Tokyo the next evening.
The hotel was clean and had efficient service. We did our laundry before going to bed.
Day3:
The breakfast in the hotel was tasty. I am glad that I booked Hotel Nikko Station II as it is within walking distance from the train station and supermarket. The staff were also very friendly in their service. We had our breakfast, checked out of the hotel, and left our luggage with the hotel for safekeeping.
We walked to the bus-stop, to start our scheduled visit. We boarded a bus and there were many locals and students. Then we realized that the bus route is only within the town and not beyond to the tourist spots. We alighted at the last stop and waited for the next bus that would go to the Kogen Fall, Kanmangafuchi Abyss and Temples .
