One Day of Vienna Schönbrunn Palace and Belvedere Museum

My first Europe tour group trip(during university) was a blur of many palaces, museums, castles and landscape seen from the coach and queuing for toilet breaks. One of the very few slightly more vivid recollections was the Schoenbrunn Palace Garden.

We took an early morning(~8+am) tram to the Palace. We were early and thus decide to have a coffee at the Resident Cage Restaurant. The strong coffee definitely perked us up :).

After our coffee, we bought our admission ticket into the museum. It was a pity that no photo-taking was allowed, and it was also fairly crowded with many tour group. The rooms in the palace were interesting. After exiting the the palace, we walked the vast palace ground.

The garden was still as grand and remarkable as before. The symmetrical layout and the rows of statues  still impressed me as when I first saw it.

We walked up the hill to have a view of the city beyond and the garden. Having a rest at Cafe Gloriette would be great but we got to watch our budget and time constraint, and thus giving it a miss.

On our way back,  I went to the washroom and heard my name being called. As I did not expect to meet anyone, it took me a while to recognise my friend who was on a Central European tour. It was indeed such a coincidence. :).

Before we left the Palace ground, we had strudel and coffee in the Strudelshow. The baker made an entertaining demonstration on strudel baking.

Although, the baker showed that it was easy to bake the strudel, it would definitely be a different demonstration and story when I do it....
Belvedere Museum
We had intended to give the museum a miss but it was a UNESCO world heritage site, and also there were many advertisement on Gustav Klimt's exhibits in the museum. We made our way through the rain from Schoenbrunn to Belvedere.

The museum exhibitions as with the other museums we had visited, were equally impressive and varied.
