Rawlinna Stop and Breakfast
The train arrived at Rawlinna by about 6am(or earlier) on the second day. Sunrise at Rawlinna |
Remote Locality
It was a cold morning with the sun rising in the far horizon. Rawlinna is termed a 'remote locality'. The train has stopped beside two buildings(one being the Post Office) with rows of wooden tables and chairs at an open area. The immense stillness and expansive landscape was spectacular.Indian Pacific Breakfast at Rawlinna |

Overheard a passenger asking a local if she has been a long time Rawlinna resident, but she has only been there for over a year.
Our breakfast was also accompanied by beautiful music played by the resident musician.
Boarding the Train and onwards to Cook
The sun was up when we boarded the train and took a last look at Rawlinna. The train started, and we continued our journey on the longest straight rail track towards Cook in South Australia.
I only have a fleeting moment in Rawlinna. My great respect for those who live and work in Rawlinna. I believe there are great challenges amidst the vast rugged beautiful land.
