The Hurtigruten Cruise : Hunting the Northern Lights - Day 2

Day 2 on board the Hurtigruten and Honningsvag
After a very choppy night of sailing, the Ship continued its northward course.

First port of call is Havoysund. The usual loading and unloading of goods and passengers from the ship.

Honningsvag
At last, the ship arrived at Honningsvag as per schedule. We have researched and decided to have a nice crab lunch and a walk around the small town.

Passengers eagerly disembarked from the ship. Most were going for the excursions. 

We have three hours in Honningsvag.

We disembarked and walked briskly towards the only King-Crab Restaurant in town. It was closed on SUNDAY!!! :( !!!

We walked slowly along the main road to have a look at a school, church and hotel.

We had a simple lunch at the Port cafe and then returned to the ship. It sailed off at 14:30 as per schedule.

A local fisherman showed this catch of King Crabs. He gave a briefing on the nature of King Crab.

Waving Competition
The next program is the Waving Competition. We were not sure how the competition was to be carry out. One motivation to gear up and participate in the competition was the serving of warm sami soup, Bidos before the event.

We waited for the southbound Huritgruten ship, and were supposed to compete in shouting out loud.
