North Sea
The boat left Hamburg as the setting sun shone the last rays onto the sea, and that started my one and half month cruise to Yokohama.
The city light of Hamburg faded out as the boat sailed off into the North Sea.
We would arrive at the next port of call Bergen after three days of sailing. As we sailed north, the day became longer, and the sun rose at 4:55am, while the sun set at about 22:48. I quickly settled unpack <<nothing much to unpack since I have only a luggage bag>>, I briefly caught up with fellow 116 passengers and also looked into the daily programs and events.
Norwegian Southern Fjords - Lysefjord Scenic Cruising
This fjords is one of the highlight of the cruise as it sailed through cascading waterfalls and towering cliffs. However it has been raining, and the visibility was bad.
The high cliff was not visible. It was a pity that the boat completed the cruising in the fog and mist.
Sognefjord Scenic Cruising (Northern Fjords)
It is the longest and the deepest fjord in Norway. The weather was slightly better than when the boat cruised the Lysefjords
Cascading waterfalls and small towns dotted the coastlines. Snowcapped mountains could be seen inland.
The boat entered the fjord at around 1:00 am, and completed the route before noon. It would then sailed for 2 days towards Reykjavik.
