Okinawa Weekend Getaway

There was a Okinawa Promotion on ctrip, and it was too hard to resist to have a short holiday in Japan, and a new destination too.
(Mainly Photos and short write-up only)
Shuri Castle
It is a UNESCO world heritage Site.

The castle wall's walkway offered a bird-eye view of the city.

Kokusai Street
We walked the street when we wanted to have a meal. There were many shops and restaurants.

Although I "resisted" going into the many attractive tourist shops, I "failed". There are so many interesting Okinawa products!

Makishi Public Market
Since Okinawa is an island surrounded by the ocean, we went to the Makishi Public Market for our first meal.

There are many varieties and type of seafood and its produces in the market.

I enjoyed the walk in this local market.

Churaumi Aquarium
I love the aquarium. It reminded me of scene from many Japanese dramas where the drama characters would visit the local aquarium. More than that, the number and variety of fish are impressive!

There were also outdoor tanks and pools with other sea creatures, and visitation to the aquarium facility.
Surprisingly, I enjoyed the aquarium visit.
Cape Manzamo
After alighting at the designated bus stop, we walked a fair distance to Cape Manzamo.

There was a small cafe, and we took our lunch before taking the bus back to Naha.
In between our day trip, we also visited the duty-free shopping shopping outlet, second-hand outlets, supermarket and have two fantastic Onsen/massage spa
Food
The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

Although Okinawa is relatively small as compared to other parts of Japan, it has a lot to offer.

I hope to visit Okinawa again to explore the smaller islands and to know it even better.
