Singapore Walk : Orchard Road, Botanic Garden, Holland Village

Our walk was to cover Orchard Road, Botanic Garden, and then Holland Village.

Helen took the MRT from CityHall to Orchard MRT station. We met at about 10am to begin our walk.

Instead of walking the main Orchard Road to Dhobi Ghaut, our walk started from Orchard Road MRT and we headed towards Tanglin Road.

Unlike Orchard with its many shopping centers, Tanglin Road has more low-rise shopping centers.

We passed by Tanglin Shopping Centre, Tanglin Place and dashed into Tanglin Mall as it started raining.

We walked around Tanglin Mall, had a coffee break and chatting.
After about 1/2 hour, the rained stopped and we walked from Tanglin Road to Botanic Garden.

It was quite a refreshing walk after the rain.

We walked through the garden, and then stopped for a visit to the Orchid Garden.

We continued with our walk towards the cafe.

We ordered Seafood Ho Fan and Fried Hokien Mee.

The food was rather yummy.

After our lunch, we walked to the Botanic Garden MRT to catch the train to Holland Village MRT via Circle Line.

Holland Village is one of the many suburban districts in Singapore. There are many eateries in the area, and it has an interesting mix of different old shophouses, modern low-rise shopping centre and hawker centre.

As we walked towards the direction of Buona Vista MRT, clusters of old and new public flats and amenity came into sight.

We crossed the road, and walked under the covered walkway, passing by supermarkets, bakery and coffeeshops.

We completed our walk as we crossed the car park to Buona Vista MRT.

The walk would have been better if we had more time. Maybe next time... :)
