Beijing : Walking Forbidden City and Eating Peking Duck Only

TP was going to Beijing for a run, and although we would only have about one and half day in Beijing, we seized the opportunity to take the train up north from Shanghai. We wanted to have Peking Duck in Beijing.

We took the train from HongQiao Train Stations, and started our food journey with two pack lunch from the train's push-cart.

We checked into the hotel, and went to Peking Chamber for Beijing Duck dinner.

The peking duck was Delicious!

Day Two
Instead of idling in the hotel room, we made our way to the Forbidden city. There was a long queue for the security check (PASSPORT IS A MUST). There were many more domestic tourists than overseas tourists.

We passed through the security check and walked to the front wall of the the forbidden city. Sophisticated security cameras were attached to most of the lamp posts.

The local tourists bought their tickets from the automated booths. Fortunately, there was a counter for foreigners without the local e-payment option.
It was a sunny day, and there were (too) many visitors.

We walked through the crowds, and decided to exit the forbidden city.

We also got an bird-eye view of the forbidden city from the hill. It was also very crowded.

As we could not get any public transport, we walked to WangFuJing. W had a nice cold coffee, followed by Peking Duck in Xihe.

We ate dumpling for dinner.

We walked nearby our hotel.

We left for Shanghai by the 2 p.m. train. We could have do more sightseeing, and walking but the weather was not so favorable. However, I am glad that I visited Beijing again.
